North and South Carolina Shrine Bowl Coaches will gather at The Courtyard Marriott – 800 West Arrowood Road in Charlotte on Monday October 6th for the selection announcement of the 88 players from the more than 400 name submissions from the two Carolinas.
Ron Long, Athletic Director of the Shrine Bowl said, “Tar Heel Head Coach Hal Capps of Mooresville High School in Mooresville and Sandlapper Head Coach Ben Freeman of PelionHigh School in Pelion, along with their respective coaching staffs will select 44 players each, in what they termed would well represent their respective states. This final selection process culminates nearly a year of extraordinary work that these coaching staffs’ dedicate to the selection process in addition to their regular jobs.”
Earlier today, Connie Altman, General Game Chairman and Ronnie Blount, Chairman of The Shrine Bowl Board Of Governors announced that the Shrine Bowl of the Carolina’s Web site and GoUpstate.com will present a live Internet Webcast that will include the Shrine Bowl Player Selection Rosters for 2014. Members of the Press are invited to attend and fully participate in the Press Conference. The Press Conference/Webcast is slated to begin at 1PM on Monday, October 6th,2014.
