As a young man Michael McKay followed God. He was the star quarterback from Campbell High School in Georgia, and it seemed that McKay had everything going for him and nothing to hold him back. With a tryout for a professional football team just one week away the very unexpected happened. It began with a breaking news story of a fatal crash; 22 year old McKay was hit head on by a speeding BMW. Later falling into a coma at Cobb General Hospital in Atlanta, McKay was the center of a prayer chain crossing several states. Surrounded by a network of 300 friends and family members, days later McKay opened his eyes. McKay is now a middle school football coach and prays that “…people don’t see me, that I am a reflection of Him and that He shines through me.” Speaking to a room full of athletes and sponsors, McKay stressed the importance of God in the lives of everyone but especially the young athletes.  He told the players that, “God makes a way out of no way…there is a time in your life that you are going to go from a boy to a man and you must bust your hump every day.”
