Our most worthwhile humanitarian project has existed for seventy-four years and has given to the Shriners Hospital for Children Endowment Fund the net proceeds from the six (6) sponsoring Shrine Centers Fund raising efforts, along with the Shrine Bowl Game proceeds, more than seventy-four million dollars ($74,000,000.00) Last year’s seventy fifth Shrine Bowl Game presented a check (for net income raised by the five Shrine Centers) for $1.677 million Dollars. While this seventy-four million sounds like a lot of money, it would almost cover operational cost for about forty (40) days or $20.00 per second. Today we operate twenty-two Shrine Hospitals, eighteen Orthopedics; three specializing in Burns Treatment and one that provides Orthopedics, Burns and Spinal injury care. During that time our Hospitals have successfully treated over 770,000 children who have been, to varying degrees, rehabilitated.
